SOUNDSCAPES III
Oda Haliti & Polly Ester

A time and space dedicated to sound experimentations and media creations.

Nestled along the enchanting Albanian Riviera, Soundscapes Radhima offers up to a week-long residency program dedicated to fostering creativity, collaboration, and exploration in the realms of sound experimentation and media creations. Set in the culturally rich region of Vlora, the program aims to inspire and challenge participating artists to produce new audiovisual works that reflect the area’s vibrant heritage and natural beauty.

At Soundscapes Radhima, artists are given the time, space, and support to delve deep into their creative practices. Emphasising the importance of experimentation, the residency provides a unique opportunity for artists to push the boundaries of their craft and venture into uncharted territories of artistic expression.

A key element of the Soundscapes experience is the opportunity for collaboration. Participants work closely with local artists and musicians, drawing inspiration from their diverse perspectives and expertise. Additionally, the residency encourages interactions with the larger artistic network of Galeria e Bregdetit, fostering a sense of community and facilitating cross-cultural dialogue.

In partnership with parallel programs at Galeria e Bregdetit, such as the Off Season Artist Residency, and the South by the Sea festival, Soundscapes Radhima seeks to enrich a dynamic ecosystem of creative exchange and innovation, where artists can immerse themselves in the rich traditions of Vlora and emerge with groundbreaking new works that celebrate the region’s unique cultural landscape.

For the 2023 edition of the residency, Oda Haliti (Prishtina) and Pollyester (Munich) descend to the seaside of Radhima and explore the rich stimuli that the area has to offer, working towards creating new pieces of audio(and/or)visual creation which according to their nature will be exhibited at Galeria e Bregdetit during the 2023 season, and performed at Pride Tirana on May 20th 2023 as support from Soundscapes Radhima and Galeria e Bregdetit towards free self-expression.

In the evening of May 20th, following the annual Pride Parade, Oda Haliti and Pollyester will headline the evening’s celebration with new and old creations; accompanied by the live performance of Zwada (Prishtina) and the musical selection of Radioblog (Tirana). Join us in an evening of incredible expression and celebration for all voices!
